EXAMINATION FEAR PHOBIA DURING TEENAGE

EXAMINATION FEAR PHOBIA DURING TEENAGE

Tired of reading again and again

Concentration in study:

The ability to concentrate varies widely between individuals. Your ability to concentrate will vary from day to day depending upon your energy levels, other responsibilities, degree of interest and involvement with your task. Concentration span improves with practice.

Before you start each study session: do some body stretches or exercises to loosen up your body physically; do a brief relaxation exercise to help clear away unwanted mental distractions. This will help, get you focused. Clarify what you are trying to learn and why.

Work in short bursts rather than in long coffee saturated sessions. If you find your concentration starting to wander, take a short break. When you return to your study, review what you have achieved so far. If after further efforts your concentration cannot be regained, stop studying and do something else. Before you stop, decide when your next study session will be and what you will study.

Health Issues to remain fit physically and mentally both:

Even more than other forms of assessment, the examination process has the potential to lead you to neglect your health. This is because of the misguided belief held by many students that in order to prepare adequately for an exam it is necessary to adjust their lifestyle in a negative fashion in order to "cram" in as much information as possible. This usually involves

·      skipping meals (or not eating proper meals)
interrupting your normal exercise routine
altering your sleep patterns

This usually means that you will become de-energized or even seriously ill just when you need to be at your peak. To maintain your physical and mental efficiency, especially around exam time, you will need to pay attention to several inter-related areas: diet, sleep patterns, exercise routines, leisure

By maintaining sensible eating, sleeping, exercise and leisure habits, especially in the lead-up to your exams you will maximize your chances of maintaining your energy levels, staying healthy, and enhancing your concentration.

Stress:

Feeling 'stressed out' is one of the most common student complaints. Stress is a normal reaction to the exercise of our mental and physical capacities.

Physical Symptoms:

There are a number of physical symptoms that alert us to a stressful situation: The heart starts to race, signalling an increase in the production of adrenalin, our breathing becomes deeper, we are edgier than usual.

It is important to recognise that these symptoms are produced automatically. They arise whenever we are confronted with a daunting task that will test our physical and mental capacities - especially if that task involves something new, unexpected, or unknown.

Fear of the unknown with exams, the fear of the unknown or unexpected is likely to dominate your thinking. You will probably be asking yourself questions like:

Will I pass this examination? Do I know enough to answer all questions? Will I be able to remember everything in exam hall? What if they ask something, which I do not know?

The more you think about these sorts of questions, the more likely it will be that your physical response will be an increase in anxiety leading to increased feelings of being 'stressed out'. Once you have recognised the onset of rising stress levels, it is necessary to do something about them, before they affect your study abilities.

EXAM PHOBIA remains in mind due to pressure from parents, society and peers.....

Improve your vocabulary in your brain to excel in language

Communication skills : Some dos and don’ts

Bring words into your brain memory

1. Never try to memorize lists of new words; you’ll probably forget them the next day. Words learnt by parroting them will not stay in your memory for long. Words learnt and understood are more likely to become part of your active permanent vocabulary.

2. If you come across any word that interests you or you do not know the meaning, you can first check the spelling from a dictionary or google, then the meaning and then how to spell it and pronounce it.

3. Practice the new word or expression. Make sentences using the word or expression. Try to think few times, during the day when you might use the word and repeat aloud to yourself that sentence with the new word you have learnt. As you practice try to construct a picture in your mind this will help you to remember better. Look out for opportunities to use the new word while talking to friends or relatives.

4. Last but not the least, extensive reading is a must. Start with an easy reading of short stories at first and slowly graduate to a novel, autobiography or any other material that appeals to you. Listening is not only for relaxation, but listen to news broadcast, documentaries, discussions and the like.

If you follow these rules religiously, you are surely on the way to be fluent in English, not only to speak but even to write better.

TEENAGERS, BE AWARE! Tobacco uses are the most preventable cause of Cancer death.

TOBBACCO use is the most preventable cause of death.

TEENAGE where one would like to try out smoking...

maybe due to PEER PRESSURE!

We ourselves invite painful(CANCER) death early in our life. Cigarette smoking is a major cause of cancers of the lung, larynx, oral cavity, pharynx and esophagus. It is also a contributing cause in the development of cancers of the other parts.  It is easier to detect when it is in the earliest, most treatable stage. If we, ourselves stop smoking and chewing tobacco; the entire tobacco epidemic would virtually disappear in next few generations. The difficulty is that it will take a conscious decision by the youth not to use tobacco in order to achieve the goal of healthy body with good looks. Stained teeth will not be a good to look at your face.

All forms of tobacco contain NICOTINE, it is a natural part of the tobacco leaf. Majority of TEENAGERS, who experiment with tobacco smoking or chewing, may become addictedslowly. In its pure form, nicotine is a strong poison. A small dose of it, injected directly into the bloodstream, can kill a person. Nicotine works on the brain and other parts of the nervous system. Nicotine is absorbed into the bloodstream through the smoke in a smoker's lungs or through the mucous membranes in the mouth for snuff/chew users. Their bloodstream picks it up and it is quickly pumped by the heart right to the brain-all within a few seconds. Nicotine makes the heart beat faster. This, in turn, increases the breathing rate and causes the body to use more oxygen. It can increase blood pressure.
Is your kid PASSIVE smoking with you?

When people smoke tobacco for the FIRST TIME, the nicotine may make them feel sick to their stomach and dizzy. As they use tobacco more often, the unpleasant feelings go away and the tobacco user gets addicted to the nicotine and grows dependent on the mild stimulant effects. Tobacco users find they need more nicotine-and more and more-in order to get the same feeling they received originally. At that point, the person is physically addicted and will only feel comfortable when nicotine is in their system. Of all addictive behaviors, cigarette smoking and Pan / Gutkha chewing, are the one most likely to become established during adolescence. Passive smoking is also dangerous for persons present in that nearby environment, particularly family members, children, friends....

PASSIVE SMOKING IS DANGEROUS TOO

Most tobacco users make several attempts before they successfully quit tobacco use. Withdrawal symptoms (both physical and psychological) can be very challenging and last longer. It may also extends to DRUG ADDICTION in future.
